On the surface, I am an Author, Nonprofit Founder, Executive Director for 2 Nonprofits, Consultant, Volunteer, Board Member and Disability Advocate. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State in Human Development and Family Studies with a focus on Life Span Human Development.
I am also the Founder and Executive Director of a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, Accessibility Bridge Corporation, whose mission is to establish a robust network of supporters and allies for individuals with disabilities, and to create secure environments where they can access and exchange essential resources. I also support my son, a US Paralympian and swimmer diagnosed with autism and an intellectual disability, in advocating for himself and living his life the way he wants to live it.
In June 2019, I was appointed to a 4-year term by Governor Larry Hogan to the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council. In 2023, I was elected as Chair of the Council and was later appointed to a 5-year term by Governor Wes Moore to continue my work with the Council (I still serve in this capacity).
On a deeper level, I have an unrelenting passion for equity, authenticity and living a shame-free life. I enjoy engaging in purpose-driven work that inspires and encourages people to own their truths, tell their stories how they experienced them and being unapologetically authentic in their healing.
